Capital Campaign...Preserving Our Club. Powering the Future.
Preserving Our Club. Powering the Future
For 70 years, Glen Oaks Swim & Tennis Club has been a cornerstone of our community — a place where families gather, children learn to swim, friendships are formed, and memories are made. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we are also facing an important responsibility: ensuring that Glen Oaks remains safe, functional, and welcoming for the next generation.
Why a Capital Campaign Is Needed
Glen Oaks is undertaking two large, essential infrastructure projects that can no longer be deferred:
- Electrical System Replacement (Summer/Fall '26) Our current electrical system is aged beyond repair and no longer meets modern code or operational needs. It powers critical functions throughout the club, including pool equipment, lighting, safety systems, and court infrastructure. Replacement is necessary to keep the club operational and safe. (~ 125K)
- Pool Re-Plastering (Jan/Feb. '27) The plaster in both pools is more than 20 years old and well beyond its expected lifespan. Cracks, wear, and underlying structural issues must be addressed to maintain safety, water integrity, and usability for members, swim teams, and programs. (~125K)
Project Cost & Timeline
The combined cost of these two projects (~250K) and the work will be spread over the next 12 months. While Glen Oaks is financially stable for normal operations, this level of investment exceeds what can responsibly be covered through annual dues and existing reserves alone. We invite everyone to participate in raising these funds to continue the affordability and legacy of Glen Oaks.
